Preparing Student Citizens to Preserve and Deepen Democracy

NAB can provide guidance and planning to:

• Assess potential of your college to deepen civic engagement throughout the curriculum.
• Co-create a “Democracy Outreach Forum” for key college faculty, staff and students to discuss how to engage area youth and adults in conversations about a livable, tolerant, and supportive community.
• Connect this Forum with national and regional groups devoted to bridging the political divide in our communities.
• Initiate structured conversations around the question: “Given that we may hold differing views and values about our society, what do we need to count on from each other so that our young people will grow up in communities that can work together across difference to achieve common ends?”
